Ruby is actually a real Czech woman, found in a photo by friend and painter David Uhl in the May, 1929 issue of The Enthusiast magazine's European edition. Her legs, her skirt, her hair and hat, her lighting the cigarette...every sexy liberating essence of a modern woman is real. She rode in those shoes, that dress and that little jacket.

But to Jeff, this subject wasn't about racing, so despite the encouragement of many, he didn't want to do the sculpture.
